Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, also known as the "Missile Man of India," was a prominent Indian scientist and politician who served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Born in a humble family in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu in 1931, Kalam went on to become one of India's most influential and inspiring figures.

Kalam started his career
as a scientist with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) where he was involved in the development of India's first satellite launch vehicle and guided missile program. He was also a key figure in India's civilian space program and played a crucial role in India's successful nuclear tests in 1998.

In addition to his scientific achievements, Kalam was a strong advocate of education and made it his mission to inspire the youth of India to pursue their dreams and work towards a better future for the country. He was a passionate speaker and wrote several books, including "Wings of Fire" and "Ignited Minds," that encouraged young people to believe in themselves and their abilities.

As President, Kalam's
friendly and accessible demeanor endeared him to the people of India, and he was widely regarded as a "People's President." He used his position to promote scientific literacy, education and development, and to further India's place on the world stage.

Kalam's impact
extended far beyond India's borders and his message of peace, education and the power of youth inspired people around the world. He received numerous honors and awards for his contributions, including the prestigious Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.

Sadly, Kalam passed away in 2015 while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. He left behind a legacy of inspiration, education and leadership that continues to inspire millions of people in India and around the world.
